Yoga


My training is inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli, an Italian teacher who studied with BKS Iyengar and the philosopher J Krishnamurti. This approach values the uniqueness of each individual and offers Yoga in a way that is suitable for every-body. Gravity, lengthening the spine and the breath are emphasised as well as ones relationship to the practice of Yoga. A deep respect for the body's wisdom is cultivated so we work in a receptive way without force or strain. Opening, softening and lengthening are keywords for allowing the body to open in an organic way.

This approach respects the natural wisdom of the body and involves cultivating a listening, receptive approach to the bodies changes and needs. It is student centred and appropriate for both beginners and intermediate students.

Regular practice will increase flexibility, strength and balance, as well as assist you in entering states of deep relaxation and awareness. Many people experience a greater serenity about life in general, improved circulation, a firmer, trimmer figure and less illness as a result.

Rosie Dores teaches Yoga on Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm.
