Hopi Ear Candling - Auricular Therapy

What is Ear Candling?
It is a pleasant and non-invasive treatment that can be used to promote an enhanced state of health, relieve conditions related to the ear and head area, or simply as an enjoyable means of relieving stress.

The Hopi people of Arizona , USA handed down the tradition of ear candle healing. They used them to induce a trance like feeling in their initiation rituals.

The candles used are based on the traditional Hopi Candle, and are made from 100 beeswax and Pesticides free cotton. They also contain Sage for antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, St Johns Wort to balance & Chamomile to soothe.

The candles are a gentle and natural alternative to ear syringing.

What happens in an Ear Candling session?
The heat from the candle eases pain and discomfort in the ear. The ingredients impregnated in the cotton vaporise and are drawn down the hollow centre of the candle via a “chimney effect”. Impurities are drawn out of the ear, into the candle and either burned away or collected in the filter.

Both ears must be treated and the treatment takes approximately an hour.

Ear Candling is carried out with the client fully clothed and the treatment generally includes a soothing facial massage focusing on acupressure points and Johrei healing. This adds to the benefits of draining the sinuses, reinforcing lymph action and blood flow.

The treatment is soothing and warming.

When Can Ear Candling help?
Candling aims to cleanse the sinuses and ears of mucus and wax.
It is also a great treatment to have when recovering from a cold or flu or simply to de-stress and clear the head.
It can act as a major benefit in the detoxification process for the whole sinus area.
