Yoga Workshops at the Haelan CentreFor an overview of all workshops at the Haelan Centre by see Workshop Calendar. Sunday January 20 th 2008 A morning to explore the base chakra through yoga postures, breathing exercises, sound and visualisations. At the base of the spine, according to the Indian energy system, lies the Muladhara chakra. This is the centre of energy responsible for grounding us, rooting us in the here and now. If this chakra is balanced, like a tree, we are solid and yet flexible, we are independent, capable individuals, connected to and useful within the community we belong to. This chakra is to do with our integrity and individuality, with what connects us to others and what makes us unique. If it is out of balance, we find it difficult to gain a sense of place or of belonging. We cannot stand on our own two feet. We may feel somehow inadequate instead of being present and fully alive. 10.00am till 1.00pm - Price £25 (£20 if booked in 2007)
Sunday March 3rd 2008 A morning to explore the sacral chakra through yoga postures, breathing exercises, sound and visualisations. According to the Indian Chakra system, the Swadisthana chakra, located at the level of the sacrum, holds our emotional and creative energy. It can manifest itself through our sexuality but also through any creative endeavour. If balanced, we know what we like and what we don't like. We feel comfortable expressing our individual style. We also make sure that our emotional needs are met and yet we are sensitive to other people's feelings. Life feels like a flow. If, on the contrary, this energy is out of balance, life is not so easy. We may feel blocked creatively, or we may feel unloved, unable to truly open our hearts to others. 10.00am till 1.00pm - Price £25 (£20 if booked in 2007)
