The Haelan Centre incorporates a herbal dispensary and homeopathic pharmacy. The Dispensary is a natural extension of the Haelan Centre's wide range of over 200 loose medicinal and culinary herbs and of the work of the staff upstairs who are renowned in the local area for their ability to give sensible and appropriate advice on the use of natural remedies.

Herbal Dispensary

The Dispensary was set up by herbalists Gemma Wild (who left the Centre to study Medicine) and Ellie Holly. The Dispensary offers a comprehensive range of practitioner strength tinctures and fluid extracts, most of which are organic or responsibly wildcrafted. Dispensary Herbalists, Neil Pelligrini and Mara Broughman, are able to make up herbal creams, gels and lotions for topical use. These are made with the most natural bases, free of petroleum products and naturally preserved.

Acute Consulatations are available. These are short 15 minute long appointments in which your condition is assessed and herbal preparations specific to your individual needs are prescribed. For those with long standing illness we suggest seeing a herbalist for a Full Consultation.

Homeopathic Pharmacy

The Homepathic Pharmacy operates from the same area upstairs in the Haelan Centre. It is run by two homeopaths Sara Smyth and Vanessa Brogan. The Pharmacy offers a wider range of homeopathic remedies in higher potencies. Also available are homeopathic first aid kits; travel kits and childbirth kits. We use the Helios brand of homeopathic remedies, they are generally regarded by homeopaths to offer the highest standard of homeopathic medicine.

Although all the homeopathic medicines are available without a consultation, we do recommend seeing a homeopath to guide you through the healing process that is brought about by the remedies, particularly the higher potencies. The success of homeopathic treatment depends on selecting exactly the right remedy for the individual - not for the symptoms. This can be a tricky process, especially if you are new to homeopathy. This is why we recommend seeing a homeopath for an Acute Consultation. Homepathy can help a wide range of ailments, although for long standing illness we suggest seeing a Homeopath for a Full Consultation.
