• What will the classes be like?

About Us
We are two registered practicing medwives who are committed to women centred care. Our aim is to provide women with sufficient information to make informed choices with regard to the kind of labour and delivery they would like to have.

This naturally leads on to help and advice with what to expect in the first days of baby's life, including breastfeeding.

We also recognize the importance of the role of the father and understand the importance of dad's inclusion in the birthing process.

Classes comprise of two three hour classes to help inform women of what to expect in the stages of labour, delivery, pain-relief and post natal care including breastfeeding.

The first session consists of:

• Hopes and fears
• Recognizing that your labour has begun
• First stage of labour
• Pain Relief
• Positions in labour
• Relaxation and breathing
  

The second session consists of:

• Second stage i.e. delivery
• Third stage i.e. delivery of the placenta
• What happens immediately after delivery
• Care of mum in the first seven days
• Care of baby in the first seven days
• Breastfeeding

What will the classes be like?
Refreshments are provided and at the end of the classes couples are given an information pack and a special magazine for Dad included in the course fee. We also would like to organise a post-natal reunion for any women interested at on extra charge.
